Postdoctoral Researcher
Dr. Suxing Liu is a research associate with a computer science background to work in the field of plant phenotyping. He was honored to be a lab member of Prof. Argelia Lorence at Arkansas State University from 2014 to 2016, where he started his research work for building software/hardware systems for plant phenotyping. Later, he continued his research at the University of Georgia and the University of Arizona under the guidance of Prof. Alexander Bucksch. He led the 3D root architecture computation in an arpa-e project under the supervision of Prof. Alexander Bucksch.
Dr. Liu and his academic and industry collaborators from Arkansas University, Hofstra University and Mizzou developed the SMART imaging systems traits of the Arabidopsis rosette that enables to measure plan plant gene discovery. His overarching research goal is to build computer vision and machine learning based plant phenotyping systems to integrate the collaborative efforts of plant scientists and agronomists.
